I believe I need a new transducer for my knotmeter. Raymarine no longer makes a ST50. I can buy a ST60 but I am not sure if they are copmatable. Has anyone out there done this. ?

I believe Airmar is the transducer supplier for Raymarine, at least for ST60 and ST40 instruments. Check with them for a replacement transducer. the link is attached.

ST50

I just went through the exercise. The transducer and control head for the ST50 and ST60 are identical except for the plugs on the connectors. The ST50 has the hardwired plug. The ST60 uses a spade type connector on the back of the control head. You can buy just the transducer, but for a few dollars more buy a new transducer with the ST60 control head. Also, Raymarine is giving a $30.00 rebate on the ST60 equipment.

ST60 Trans with ST40 Display

I recently replaced my dead paddle with Airmar unit. Instead of re-threading the wires back to the display unit, I cut and join the wires. No problem. If ST60 transducer is suitable for your ST50 display, you might be able to just cut and join.
