Raymarine ST40 and i40

Hello,
I've separate ST40 for Depth and Speed over Water Displays. Can I replace both with the newer i40 Depth and Speed Displays but retain use of existing sensors from the old ST40?

I40??? Does anyone have experience replacing a Raymarine ST40 depth sounder with an I40? The original on my 2005 Hunter 25' displays nothing. Is the ST40's transducer compatible with the newer i40 display? Any wiring tips? My owners manual does not contain any diagrams for the systems...
