Thanks for your responce re. the wheel movement, we were told of that and decided it was out weighted by the good points. Question. Where did you mount the drive unit and what arm did you use to connect to rudder post? Appreciate the reply

Raymarine ST 5000.

George. The power unit was mounted on the aft starboard side bulkhead that, on the 361, you can get at through the aft starboard locker. The unit has to be bolted through the aft bulkhead with a stainless steel backing plate on the inboard side to stiffen the assembly up. I think we used 1/8 or 3/16 plate that was 8"x5". This is necessary to absorb the torque loads. I dont know the rod size. The compass was installed under the aft bunk. Be sure it is as far away from magnetic fields as you can get it, our first location was too close to the cockpit speakers. I will look for a drawing that I got off the net which may be in my files.
