Raymarine ST-40 Wind Instrument

I am installing a Raymarine ST-40 wind instrument on my Hunter 260 and am wondering how to best install the Rotovecta unit on the masthead. It has to coexist with the VHF antenna, the anchor light and a Windex. Has anyone done this? Are there any photos available? Thanks!

No problem

Had the ST-40 on my boat too. The wind instrument is typically mounted on the top surface of the mast, or cap, all the way forward pointing forward. The VHF antenna can then be mounted on the side of the mast, near the top. Anchor light is just aft of the mount for the wind instrument. The windex is then mounted on top of the aft edge of the crane at the masthead (if you have one) or if not, you buy or make one of those extenders to move the windex further aft. There should be plenty of room for all of this stuff to clear.

Easy to do

I installed one four years ago. I install the unit in a spare vhf bracket on the starboard side of the mast. The vhf antenna was already on the port side. The two coexsist well together. For trailering I just remove the transducer cups. I didn't trailer it allot so it wasn't an issue removing the vane. The windex was installed at the aft part of the mast head with an extension. I love having the ST-40. My wife used it to sail by especially when the bimini was up. It was a great addition. Carl
