I am having a raymarine 2Kw radar system installed together with the raymarine C70 chartplotter and GPS receiver on our Hunter 356. In a "typical" installation is the radar dome power supply different from the power supply to the chartplotter and GPS or is it one common supply. I think that on most days I would want to use the GPS and chartplotter but would only need the radar during reduced visability. I am not sure that I need the extra load on the house batteries when sailing in good weather.

Raymarine Radar

Installed the same system on my boat about a year ago. The radar/chartplotter has a function that allows you to leave the radar in either warm-up mode or to turn it off completely from the radar/chartplotter display. The short version is, they should be connected to the same power source.

Interface cable provides power

from the control unit. I think the chartplotter and gps will each have their own power connection if I understand your setup.
