Hello all.............. I have an issue with my transduder on the masthead..it aint transducing!! My windspeed cups work perfectly and I get accurate windspeed indication, but my direction bit does not move at all. Any clues? Thanks Neil

Mine arrived dead - had to replace
My first masthead unit(Raymarine ST60)was DOA, just wind direction, not speed. Replaced and it has run fine for 4 summers.

They have a procedure to test the transducer using a voltmeter. I usualy get support thru their website. But if I am in a rush I call them using their 800 number. Here is the procedure for the ST60 Wind/Vane from Raymarine.com the FAQ's Question The ST50 windvane was serviced earlier this year and was working fine. I then lost the mast and have just put on a new windvane transducer (arrived Thursday). The cable and mount is new down the mast to a junction box where we connected it to the old cable colour to colour. With the instrument on, I get voltages of 1-7 V variable when compared to the black wire which I presumed was the earth. Yet nothing is on the display. Any ideas on what I can do to troubleshoot this? Answer Are you getting any wind direction or speed on the display head? or do you see dashes --.- on the LCD?. Dashes indicate that the display head is not receiving any signals from the masthead unit. Using a digital volt meter you should see the following readings: Red to Screen: 8V Blue to Screen: Variable 2 to 6V Green to Screen: Variable 2 to 6V Yellow to Screen: Variable 0 to 8V I hope this helps, 46
