Raymarine GPS Week Rollover Issues

In an earlier post I mentioned that a Raymarine tech person said that the RayStar 125 GPS unit on my boat would see a GPS week rollover discontinuity this year. The issue arises because of using a 10-bit value to represent the week number, hence every 1024 weeks (about 20 years) that counter rolls over. (I have read that newer GPS units may be using a 13-bit value thus yielding a rollover period of over 150 years.)

Today, I found a table on the old Raymarine forum that was produced by Raymarine showing the year at which various products containing a GPS receiver had or will have problems and what corrective action to take. That table can be found at the URL below. Note that this issue doesn't affect the accuracy of the GPS fix. Rather, it only affects the unit's ability to properly calculate the current date/time using the data from the satellites.

Thank you for the info. My AXIOM 9 is affected in 2033. I added a note in my calendar so I’m not chasing my tail when the time comes.
I hope it lasts that long, and if so I’ll either replace it or configure it to use an external GPS, or maybe they’ll have a fix. (I hope I last that long, too). ;)
Edit: They say it won’t affect position accuracy but it probably affects the tide prediction displayed, therefore it’s potentially hazardous.

I found a table on the old Raymarine forum [...]
I forgot to mention that I asked the Raymarine tech staff yesterday if the table's information was accurate and up-to-date and they said it was the most current.
