Raymarine delivery problems

Curious, I have a order for new autopilot via Defender from Raymarine. Getting the X10 below deck type 1 drive with ST70 head. It has been on order since Feb 2 with no delivery expected. Defender checked their internal memos and Raymarine is now saying May for delivery.
Is anyone else having a problem? Is Raymarine marine division going down the drain???

I'm sure I'm ordering something that would not normally be on the shelf but damn! I might just take my money somewhere else...

Raymarine has been in financial trouble for some time now. Potential buyers of the company have backed out of a couple of deals. Aside from my feelings about there quality, the survival of the company is no way assured at this time. Chuck

Have been looking into a wheelpilot but raymarine online lined me up with same model linear drive as you are ordering and over $2500 more then the wheel pilot around a grand on ebayas opossed to $3500 and they are in stock another confermation for me to go wheel drive dont want to wait on a linear drive maybe it could work form you?!

Garmin actually had a bid in to buy Raymarine, but the deal fell through.

I had called Raymarine and they stated they were having problems with their overseas suppliers.

I read this has not having the money to pay them so they won't deliver....

BTW, I currently have the ST4000+ wheel pilot installed but need to upgrade to something that will work in heavier seas than it can handle.

I hate to speculate, but I suspect they are carrying a heavy debt load. OTOH, everyone is running as lean inventories as possible and one would assume that's suppliers too, so it may not be on their side. I really hope it works out OK since that field can certainly use the competition and innovation we've seen the last decade.

A few months ago i bought what they called a Factory Refurbished smart pilot X-5 from Defender for about $900.00 shipped. I had been watching for something used on the net but when I received the add from Defender I figured for that money I would give it a go. Will find out how she works in another 4 - 6 weeks.
