My Cal 28 has Signet instruments (speed, depth, apparent wind) and an AutoHelm ST4000+. I am considering replacing all the electorics on board with a Raymarine C80/GPS/Radar/ST60 instrumentation. From what I can dig up in the way of information, I believe that this can all be combined into a single display, including the instrumentation output. However, the available Raymarine documentation doesn't seem to show much about adding in the instrumentation. Can anyone tell me if this can lead to an effective and usable combination of data? Will this allow me to see the actual instrument data on the C80 display? Is there any competitive line that will effectively combine all this stuff into a unified whole? I hate to go with the only apparent choice if there's competition to check out. -Smitty

Yes, it's all integrated.

Smitty, I have that system except that I've got the 6000 autopilot. Everything works on the C80, radar overlay etc. You can customize whatever page you wish. I mounted my wind, depth/speed in a Navpod on the coachroof under the dodger as I'm seldom behind the wheel. The C80 system will not allow another monitor at the nav station but I've found no need for one. I've gotten used to doing my planning (electronic) in the cockpit.

You Need ST60 Displays

You do need the ST60 display(s). The transducers have to connect to them. The Seatalk data bus will move the data to the C80 for display. Everything talks to everything. You even get autopilot indications on the ST60 Speed and Depth displays. Bill
