Recently I noticed that on my Raymarine autopilot my COG is off by 180 Degrees. Dead south is 0 Degrees and North is 180? Does anyone know what is going on? Could a setting have accidentally been changed on one of the units?
Not unless global climate change has reversed our poles...maybe I am the first to know about thisDid you cross the equator?

Maine,You need to re-swing the AP compass or make sure a tool bag or other metal object did not get placed to close to the fluxgate
Was your autopilot ever set up? Calibrated to the boat?Maine,
Could you please elaborate a bit. I am a non-techie![]()

In order to set up the AP one of the first steps is to calibrate or swing the fluxgate. This entails making numerous small circles with the boat in calm water with the AP in the setup screen until the "swing" takes. Sounds like you need to go through the set up procedure, it will be in the manual.....
In terms of tool bags etc. the fluxgate is like any other compass and can be drastically affected by proximity to ferrous metals.. Proper placement of the fluxgate to avoid magnetic interference is extremely critical..
Lori,Sounds to me like an initial setup issue, maybe it lost its settings. I had the same issue with my Furuno radar. I'll bet it's just a setting, you might want to explore that before spending time spinning circles![]()
Not a problem...Got it fixed this am with a re-calibration. Did have to make a few circles and it still wanted the 180 degree off setting so I manually set the offset to agree with my compass.Lori,
I love the name of one of your races in your bio. Snooze n Cruise. I *might* be convinced to try that kind of racing.
Oh, sorry in advance for the thread hijack.
