Raymarine acquires Tacktick

Tack tick and Raymarine

In my opinion this will just increase the price of tack tick products. I bought them for my sailboat a few years back and they work well. I also have some Raymarine, raytheon, autohelm etc etc stuff. In my opionion the Raymarine products are "cheaper built" (like the autopilot x5) and are more expensive , (like their GPS units where you pay as much for the antenna as garmon charges for the unit) and not any more , maybe less, accurate. Just like all things, the big get bigger. (look at West Marine they just bought the marketplace) and did anyone wee lower prices and more variety? I do think the tack tick units are great.

I don't know if its good or bad. If Raymarine wants to go wireless I would think its good. Its going to be dear, 'though.

Raymarine is the West Marine of recreational marine electronics. That's not a bad thing if they give good service and offer to "price match". ..... I don't really care that much because I can't justify the expensive tacktick stuff anyway.
