We are getting ready to install 5000 Autohelm and was wondering if anyone had experience, good or bad, or suggestions re. this model. Any and all informaton would be appreciated.
I have had one fitted to my B361. I dont like the way it "shunts" back and forth on the wheel .That is the wheel is constantly shunting moving from port to starboard; it does not change the boats direction but I think puts an unnessary load on the gear and is using power. Raymarine tell me it is a normal characteristic of this model. On the plus side it is a powerful unit and other than the above works well. John.
