Greetings,
I just installed a used Raymarine 18" 2kW radome. I have an R70 display, the green screen CRT, non-chartplotter display.
With my original radome it was error-ing out with "scanner non responding."
Everything now appears to work fine except that I get absolutely no echo returns at a range of less than 0.860 nm. I can set the range on the display all the way down to 1/8 nm, and all the way up, but there regardless there's a blank spot with a radius of 0.860 nm.
The above is with Gain on Auto, Auto Sea on Harbor, Tune on Auto.
If I set the gain to manual and turn it all the way to 100%, I get a bright spot in the center of radius .051 nm., then blank out to 0.860 nm radius, then bright all the way out.
I certainly hope this is just a configuration or setting issue, but I can't figure it out, and I haven't changed anything on the display unit since I had the previous radome.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks,
jv
