Raw water to Fresh conversion

Has anybody done a conversion from raw water cooling to fresh?Wondering about the cost of adding heat exchanger, pump..total conversion to closed system.Thanks.

Thanks for the response. The engine is the Universal(now Westerbeke) #541111 hp model.I understand that this engine was made until '82, so the one on the boat I am considering is probably the original,in lieu of a rebuild.Seems like that's a lot of years of saltwater going through the system with a negative effect over time. I don't know if the conversion this late would do any good.John
