Ahoy,
I have to replace my current raw water thru-hull which is a strainer type. The reason for the replacement is I have to go from a 5/8 to 7/8 input hose for a Nanni 3.21. Is there a current preference on thru-hull type? Flat and open versus strainer type?
Regards,
Bob

Are you planning to up-size the thru-hull and seacock as well? Unless you are up-sizing all components of the raw water system, all you are doing is buying an expensive hose adaptor... just sayin'.

Jim,
Yes, the entire system will be up sized to meet the specifications called out for with the Nanni 3.21.

Why not stay with the original design and stick with a strainer type? I just replaced mine with the same. I figured it would draw water in better because it acts like a "scoop". Plus it isn't as susceptible to getting clogged up.
