I have a 2002 393 with a Westerbeke 44AFour engine. I have had 4 water pump failures in the past 4 years. Seems like every 200 hours or so. Is this something that other 44AFour owners are having? I removed the impeller yesterday after 66 hours and it is failing (cracks forming at the impeller edges). Thanks for any help. Robert

What is the pump?
Take a look at this page. The impellers are superior to the OEM. http://www.marineparts.com/mpf/mpf664.aspx If the impellers are breaking down so soon, I would suspect that the pump is loosing prime and the impeller is initially running dry. Perhaps a Globe impeller will solve your problem. Jim
