Raw water pump westerbeke 42b

Hey all, after a week of lots of motoring finally noticed a leak spraying small amount of raw water around the pump on our westerbeke. I've looked into pumps and they're all ridiculous expensive and focused in on rebuild instead.

Anyone have any experience with success on rebuild? Also noticed there are two very similar pumps, one has a circular cover and the other a wider part. Curious if anyone has a way to find exactly what part i have.

Also lastly taking it off there was some oil behind the gasket between pump and engine, is this normal? Should it be a lot or none?

I have a different pump but alos has leakage. My pump had two seals (one oil toward the engine and one water towerd the pump). I found a pic of a tool on line to remove the seals. I had seal grooves on the shaft so I replaced it also. Made this tool from internet pics out of an allen wrench. The actual job is easy

So you took the pump apart and replaced as needed? I was looking at complete kits but i know the impeller is pretty new so i can certainly reuse that. Where did you get seals and shaft?

View the album. I used steering wheel puller to remove and install all 3 seals.
It is OK to find engine oil behind the paper gasket between the pump and the engine block.

Ended up getting new pump, I'll rebuild old when I have time but this makes me trust the part since my seal pressing skills aren't the best.
