Raw water in bilge from Jabsco

Re Jabsco manual twist ’n’ lock pump, 29040-3000
Raw lake water is filling the bilge.
I believe it is leaking through the Jabsco
The last time the Jsbsco was used the pump handle was not left all the way down and the flip lever was to the left (not the position to the right)
The twist-lock does not go to full lock if that is the 3 o’clock-9 o’clock position. I cannot get it past about the 2 o’clock-7 (or 8) o’clock position.
The bowl is dry and can be filled and flush as expected.
I do not see any leak around the through-hull intake.
I think the leak has something to do with the defective twist-lock mechanism although I am not sure what it ‘locks’ or the pathway of the raw water through the toilet.

I don't believe the twist lock is your problem - all that does is lock the pump handle in the down position. The fact that the flip lever was in the "wet" position is the more likely culprit, if in fact, the Jabsco is the source of the raw water leak. What other through hulls do you have on the boat? When was the last time you rebuilt the Jabsco pump?

If intake water is getting to the bilge from the toilet, then the problem should be obvious. You said the bowl isn't overflowing, so that's not it. Is water puddled under the bowl from a leaking bowl or pump base?

If the flip lever was left in the intake position, and/or the lever was half way, then the bowl would fill. There is no other place for the water to go - it has to go either into the bowl, or leak out from the base or pump. Both of these would be obvious by the puddles remaining.

Is the holding tank overflowing into the bilge? Or an anti-siphon valve on the intake stuck? Those would be the only other toilet-related reasons I can think of.

Do you have a thruhull for the toilet fill? If so, close it. Do you still get water in the bilge? Then it is not coming from the head.

And if the bowl is not overflowing, I don’t think it is coming from the holding tank either.

My question about the holding tank was considering a loose hose, disconnected vent, broken fitting, or a leaking tank. I figured overflow through the bowl would be obvious.
