No Peggie, look again at the parts diagram. I have the greatest respect and regard for your knowledge and have learned a lot from you - but I think you’re mistaken this time.
The piston edge in the pump (not the rod, to be precise) at the places where it meets the inside walls of pn#1200cw is what needs lubricant, and the best way to do that is to open the pump at the bottom of 1200cw and smear some Superlube around the interior circumference with a gloved finger. Not “squirt” because a blob of Superlube doesn’t dissipate evenly without some physical help, and a blob in one place will not lube the circumference of the interior. I think whoever told you that at Raritan was oversimplifying what it takes to do it right.

I also try to distribute the grease around the inside of the cylinder so the piston (or the o-ring around the piston, part 1232-ms) gets lubricated all around.
