The sail maker for the sails on a used boat that I am considering buying wouldn't matter to me. If I race, either the boat will have reasonably good racing sails or I will replace them after I buy the boat (this is my case, the boat already had a pretty good suit of racing sails). If I just cruise, I want to make sure that the sails are still in good shape (with the sail maker being irrelevant), or I will buy new ones (or a different boat).
