Someone on the site had drilled a hole in the pole in the cabin and raised their table up. does anyone recall what size the hole was?

Not Sure

I raised the table on my old 1996 H26. I'm not sure what size hole we ended up with, sorry. Seems to me it was 1/2 inch. To be safe you will need to measure the existing hole since the same pin can be used in both locations. The toughest part of the whole procedure is making sure the holes on each side of the post line up. It is tempting to drill straight through but you increase the risk of damaging your centerboard line inside. When raising mine I used a rubber tipped quick clamp on the compression post beneath the table to support it in the up position while I traced the outline for the new holes with a Sharpe. Be certain to have the table centered port to starboard. I left 1/2 inch clearance above the table to prevent any chafing while under way. Start with a smaller pilot hole on each side. Try not to plung the bits and deeper than necessary into the hole to avoid your CB line. After using the final bit, fine tune the holes with a rat tailed file. This removes the burrs on the inside of the post and allows you to make small corrections in the alignment. We sailed with it up most of the time. Its amazing how much it opens up the cabin and makes utilizing the storage under the settees easier. This was a rewarding project that costs very little and that's the best kind.
