Rollers ?
Could you weld an axle with a 6" rubber roller on the mast support (like they have on the bow end of boat trailers) . . . and then have a similar roller that would clamp on the pulpit (maybe two 2x4s with bolts that would clamp the 2x4s on the top pulpit, with the roller above the 2x4s).Thus you might be able to roll the mast foreward sufficiently far to clear the arch, then roll it back using only the front roller, to lift the mast above the arch. The front roller would need to be sufficiently high and/or sufficiently far forward on the pulpit so the mast would not hit the pulpit when bow end was tipped down as the aft end was was lifted above the arch.I realize that this means you would still be lifting at the point that you would be moving the mast above the arch but it would reduce the lifting some as you could roll the mast foreward, lift the aft end above the arch, then continue to lift and pull the aft end above the arch. To improve on that, is there any way that the mast support could be extended after the mast was far enough forward to clear the arch and before it was rolled back.Had a Catalina that had such an arrangement to angle the mast up. It consisted of a square tube that extended from a larger square tube. The larger square tube had two bolts that would screw in holding the smaller tube to whatever length was desired. However, Ihaven't figured out how you can clamp the aft mast support to your boat to keep it vertical. Maybe you can, however.
