I looked at a Hunter 340 today and the table was in the down position for making a bed. I never saw how to raise and couldn't seem to lift it. Can someone explain how it operates?

Usually some type of clamp that is used to hold the table after raising the table and than tighten the clamp to hold in place, some thing like that that allows the table to lower to bed and raise to table.

Do you manually lift it back up? It didn't easily move and I didn't want to use much force since I wasn't sure how it worked. I noticed there was a rope involved. Counterbalance?
I have a 2000 H340. My cabin table has no rope and the whole thing just slides up and down the mast support tube. You have to lift it by hand, slide it up and there is a stainless steel key rod that inserts into a hole in the mast support tube to hold the table up. The key rod is held in a holder on the forward side of the metal collar that slides up the tube and supports the table. Try rotating/twisting the table a bit and try to lift it without binding on the mast tube. It helps to remove or raise the cushions when raising and/or lowering the table.
John, are you sure about not having a rope?
Our 1999 H340 has a line tied to the table top that goes up and over a pulley in the compression post, with a counter weight inside the compression post (you can hear it hit bottom as you raise the table way up). Under the table top on the forward end is a T-handle that tightens up a clamp on the post to hold the table at the desired height.
