Has anyone tried raising the boom on the 23 by reattaching it higher on the mast? The main when fully up is about a foot short of the top of the mast head and the boom hangs so low, it'd be nice to raise it. Any other suggestions for getting the boom up higher would be appreciated. Would the higher profile of the main cause a problem?

Heeling moment

Just a thought, I would suspect that your "heeling moment" force will be greater, thus making the boat more tender. Hypothesize this by thinking of the extreme, suppose your boom was moved 10 feet higher, the moment arm from the boat to the sail is longer, creating a larger heeling force with the same given wind speed. Although you are only talking about one foot, don't know if raising the boom is a good idea.
