I have a P 323 and am considering raising the boom 6 or 8". Has anyone done this?
My reasons are; 1) The boat came with a dodger but it was so low entering and leaving the cabin was a bit difficult. 2) The Garhauer rigid vang is at quite a low angle (at the mast - acute angle at the boom). 3) The boom is low enough to make for a "deep duck" to get under it to go on the port deck. It can't be left centered or getting out of the cabin is a sure head knocker, thus I park it to the port side of the companion way.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Geoff
