Rain in port lazerath of Hunter 23 and under floor boards

I have a Hunter 23 which is on a trailer and I keep seeing water in port lazarth where I keep battery and small storage items. Just has a single lid. Also water in hull below the 3 floorboards. I drain the floorboard compartment which has the keel nuts and water still seeps thru the small connecting holes from one compartment to another as draining. I raise the trailer up or down and still get water after several weeks. The interior of boat seems dry. The boat has a cockpit drain in stern. Anchor locker has a drain and looks ok.

Do I need to put install a drain at bottom of transom, not even sure if this is attached to interior hull. Possible a pump in port lazareth compartment. Thanks so much Scott

Check the hose for the anchor locker drain. Mine collected mud which froze which busted the hose. The worst part of that job is finding hose flexible enough to make the turn while still allowing water to flow. Getting to it is almost worser. And tightening the hose clamps is even more worser. Yep, it’s a simple job that isn’t easy.

Apparently the best way to find leaks is to seal up the companionway with plastic and tape and then pressure the cabin with a leaf blower. Have a friend wet all seams with soapy water and look for bubbles. I’ve never done that but others have done so with great success.

To access the Anchor well, there is a triangular shaped piece forward of the v berth that is screwed in. Remove the screws and understand it is a tight fit thus difficult to get out. You will see that.
There are other messages regarding the floor water in cabin in the archives of the 23 wing keel. You might see a reference or two for a few with a swing keel with wings but only 10 were made before that fiasco was changed to the wing keel fixed version. Hunter did not do a good job of putting weep holes in the bulkheads to allow the water to drain properly to the keel area inside. Also there are some small weep holes that might have gotten glogged so clean em out.
@Kermit told you a trick to find leaks above the water line if boat is in the water. YOu will need to tape any existing hatches and close off any opening ports tightly. Have your friend with a brush, brush everything with that soapy water. In addition slit the plastic over the companionway inserting the leaf blower but tape that too so no air can escape there.
