I'm looking for some rail netting for my C25. Also wondering how folks have dealt with getting their 60 lb. dogs from boat to water and vice-versa. And as long as we're on the Dog subject, How do I get my dog used to peeing/pooping on deck? Right now I'm trying a square foot of turf in a container, but haven't been out long enough for her to be forced to use it :) Thanks for any insight!

Maybe you could demonstrate for her first? Seriously, you should try to get your woofer to go on the turf material at home in the yard. Work with her there, if she goes on it there you are halfway there. Regards, Big Joe

rail netting

Check out a local marine salvage yard or marine consignment shop for your netting. I walked thru two of them today {in St.Pete} and was amazed at all the junk/stuff they had to offer. There is a place on your coast called Sailorman. I have never been there but have talked with them on the phone. It may be a place to start. Sorry, no advice on the dog, our 16 year old chihuahua isn't into sailing, or much else at her age. good luck, Jack

Work up to it

What my father-in-law did was that he had a 10 x 10 area in the back yard filled with river stone (you could use turf). When the dog needed to go out, he took the dog to the area on a leash and he rewarded her when she went on the rocks. Slowly, he was able to take her out without the leash and soon she went there on her own. Great for picking up after her. Now you could move your turf to the boat and presto. Be advised, turf will now be open game for poop.....anyone's turf.
