Greetings, Press deadlines for announcements are the 10th of the month prior to the monthe of publication. If we want to have a meeting of the Y-boats in July, we have to decide on a time and place before then. Any interest? Regards, Bob

Bud in Okinawa

Bob, We have corresponded in the past few years. You have been a great help with my restoration of a Yahama 26', the "Malietoa". I have posted a request for information on a bimini top for the Yahama 26' sailboat. Are there any manafacturers that you know of who have a custom fit for my boat? Bud in Okinawa

Rendez-vous Yamaha

Hello Bob, Yes, you can count me in. Saturna Island has a lamb bake on July 1 Canada Day, which is always first class and busy. Just an idea! Beaumont Marine Park, Roche Harbor, Montague Hrbr or any of these places is handy for the Pacific North-West sailors. Let's vote on it and do it this year sometime in July. Cheers, Luke Schouten

Raftup

Greetings, A previous poster suggested Poet's Cove--I believe that's in Bedwell Harbor. What do you think of that in, say July 19th-20th? There's a full moon then, and I might have my thermoelectric refrigeration project done by then. Bob

Bimini

Hi Bud, I don't know of anybody that makes a stock bimini for the boats, but I saw a clever design on a Dragonfly 1000 trimaran that was made from backpacking tent poles and ripstop nylon. Keep in mind that we never get sun and wind at the same time around here, so that might not be the best choice for your location. Bob

OOPS

Greetings, I guess it would be a good idea to suggest a date that I could attend. It turns out that I'm at a wedding that weekend. How about July 26-27? Bob

July 26-27?

I'm the proud new owner of "Empress", a 1982 Y-33, and would love to get to know the Yamaha community ... the weekend of July 26-27 anywhere in the Gulf Islands sounds great!

Yamaha Rendez-Vous July 26-27

Bob, Please confirm the date and place for the Yamaha Rendez-vous. I like to be there with a 95% probability and have to do some planning accordingly. I'm sure that from the dozen or so Yamaha's in the Sidney Area we will get good participation for this event, when everyone knows about it "early". An announcement in the July addition of the 48 North comes to my mind. Luke Schouten

Rendezvous

Miranda II (Y33) should be able to make it to Bedwell Harbour (Poets Cove), Roche Harbor, or Montague Harbour etc. My vote? Either Roche Harbor or Bedwell Harbour as they're easy customs reporting ports. Anyone else Tim

Raftup

I would love to join the raft up. I have never gone to Bedwell Bay from Vancouver and I Sail with two Handicapped young men, if anybody is leaving from Vancouver it would be nice to sail along side just for safety reasons Hans de Jager

HI We just got our Yamaha 33 (Toby Too) and are leaving on a family sailing trip July 1. I don't know where we'll be July 26, we're probably going to do the Gulf Islands first. Might do the San.Juans, i'd like to do Desolation and the Northern Gulf as would the kids. Used to cruise a Contessa 26 but got a little bit small with the four of us for 6 weeks. If we're close to Bedwell on July 26 we'll see you there! Rick

RENDEZ-VOUS JULY 26-27 BEDWELL HARBOR

Hello all,
I hope to see you Yamaha owners in Bedwell Harbor to make a start of
getting together with other Yamaha sailboat owners.
There will be time to discuss technical stuff and have a good time.
We have to get as many of you out there. Please notify other Yamaha owners you know that are not familiar with this website and this message.
See you on Saturday ,Cheers, Luke Schouten

Rendez-vous Bedwell Harbor

Hello Yamaha Sailboat owners,
The Rendez-vous in Bedwell Harbor was a great success for two reasons.
-The setting and weather cooperated nicely.
-The "happy hour" was wonderful and ideas were exchanged with a commitment
to continue and schedule a second event of this kind in the future.
However, we did not expect a lot of participation for the first time, but we can do better than having 2 Yamaha's in a rendez-vous after all the legwork and announcements that were made.
Cheers, Luke

Would like to have been there ......

.... however, work would not let me get away. Summers are just too busy for me. (working 6 & 7 days a week these days)

How about a get together in early September?
Or at least some kind of Van Isle get together. I mean there are a ton of Yammies in the Sidney/Victoria area.

Ideas?

cheers
Craig
