Noticed the heat exchanger cap is getting rusty and as it's old anyway, I want to replace it but can't find any specs. Does anyone here have info on what type cap would be appropriate for a 4JH Yanmar? Don Illusion

About the only difference in caps is the PSI

rating before it blows steam. Every cap is interchangeable on every radiator. For marine use get the lowest psi available. Six psi should do it. A marine diesel has no need for the retention of high pressure. Just be sure it has the return valve in the center of the cap so the expansion tank works as needed with an engine that runs cool compared to cars. Most all caps have the return valve. And if you buy a Delco, (the best) then you can obtain a stainless cap that will look good and not rust, like on my hotrod. :)
