I would like to mount radar just past the first spreader. Is it a problem with roller furling if not then how....

Very little

Yes if air is real light it will get stuck but we have had our radar up
mast since 2007 and can count on one hand how many times it got stuck.
Usually it's no problem unless wind is less than 5 knots.

We have Raymarine radar mounted just below the second spreader, a 110% jib, it has never been a problem for us.
