Just purchased a new radar system for my 1997 340 and was wondering if any one has ever come off the arch with a mount for the dome, the traveler does not extend completely and there seems to be enough room extending aft over the bimini. Also not sure of the internal construction of the arch under the fiberglass gelcoat.

Doesn't the boom sweep right over the traveller?
Is there enough clearance under the boom for a radome?
Would it not get a great clout with a block or get tangled in mainsheet whenever you gybed?

Yes it does but the plan would be to extend aft with a fabricated bracket to stay out of harms way.

My gut reaction is you're going to find that a simple stern tube mount will probably look better and be more functional than what you have in mind. You want to make sure the radome is high enough above head level so that given the vertical beam width, you don't cook yourself (slight exaggeration but you get my point).
My other worry is that anything coming back off the arch will make a wonderful place for the main sheet to wrap itself around.
