I am installing an 18" Raymarine raydome on my mast. I have some questions and my wife has some concerns... 1) should i create a junction box a the the mast step where the other wires are connected so i can remove the mast at a later date? 2) we have a fractional rig so what is the optimum height for the dome? Can i put it above the fore-stay? 3)does anyone have a experience / preference on brackets? Gimbaled? Fixed? concerns... 1) does drilling the bracket holes into the mast have any ill effects on the structural integrity of the mast? 2) does anyone have any experience regarding the chaffing on the jib? any and all information is welcome.
