RaceQs Question

Our racing fleet runs the RaceQs app every week. The app tracks all the boats and allows you to analyze the race afterwards. For the past three weeks (Since September 5, 2023) it hasn't been working properly and the app developers do not respond to questions. Is anyone else having difficulty running the RaceQs race replays?

I believe the developer has ceased any activity on the software some time ago. Someone with skills in the software development arena needs to do a crowdfunding thing to get it going again.

Thanks for the info. That's what I was afraid of. Too bad, it's a great app.

We've been using ProRegatta to provide tracking. It's a bit clunky and involved to set up.

Anyone else find something other than ProRegatta to replace RaceQs?

I have given up on Race Qs No matter what I do, it only records about 30 seconds of the race. I tried support with no reply. It's a shame it's fantastic when it works.

I built WakeRoute because our local fleet used to want RaceQs-style replays, but RaceQs kept breaking and getting everyone onto paid tools was hard. It’s free: record from phone or upload GPX, then replay one boat or multiple boats together after racing.

I’m looking for feedback from real club racers, especially fleets that used RaceQs or want a simple post-race debrief. Here’s a sample replay: CCYC Aug 13 – WakeRoute Sail

Not selling anything — just trying to make this useful for beer-can racing and amateur regattas. It's new, so very open to feedback, and even feature requests.

Interesting. Took a brief look at the GUI. Numbers and feedback will take some time to understand. It was a bit crowded with detail, even when using a 14" laptop screen.

Looks like the data could give a racer true insight into their performance. Enable them to focus their energy on the skills that most affect their results.

Definitely there a lot of info there, and too much if there's many boats in one race - I'll keep thinking how to make the display for configurable / customizable, so that it shows you only the data you are interested to see or asking for.
