Quick Topping Lift Line ?

My topping lift is 1/4" NE Stay Set double braid with spliced eye hanging on a 1/4" pin on the mast head.
How long should that last?
I put it on 4 years ago. With a new furling system being installed this month I was wondering if I should replace the TL while the man lift was up there hanging the furler.

The overall cost of replacing while it is convenient and the resulting piece of mind is worth it. Plus there should be enough useful line in the old one to supply a couple of years worth of misc. projects!

Since it's not subject to abrasion (generally) it should last as long as the polyester can deal with the UV exposure. Even if the cover were getting fuzzy, the core should be good.
