Quick Question About SBO Site Access

It appears the access issues are being resolved as we are getting reports from members whose access has been restored.

Thank you all for your patience and assistance in resolving this technical glitch, it is much appreciated.

I have a Samsung S23+ and I still cannot connect using the SBO app.

However I can connect via Firefox on my desktop and laptop using a fiber optic service and also my T-Mobile driven hotspot device.

The android phone is the only device that won't connect via fiber optic, hotspot, or mobile data.

If I open Firefox on my phone and try the forums.sailboatowners.com link, I get an error message that claims that Firefox doesn't trust the certificate from SBO.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Rich,

Try quitting all the apps and turn off the phone. Then turn it back on.

If that doesn't work, try deleting the app and reinstalling it.

Try the same process for Firefox. At least for the Firefox app there is some bad data that hasn't been erased.

SSL Labs does show some certificate problems with the site’s configuration. It looks like one of the certificates in the certificate chain is revoked. I don’t get any errors in my browser from this, but maybe Rich’s configuration is stricter and it’s creating a problem? The SSL Labs report should be available at SSL Server Test: forums.sailboatowners.com (Powered by Qualys SSL Labs).

(To be clear for others reading the thread - this does not mean the site is vulnerable / hacked / etc. It just means one of the certificates the server uses to prove to the browser that it really is the authentic server *might* not be configured correctly. It doesn’t really affect user or server security directly.)

David wins Forum IT User of the month, guys. Good catch. The certificate had the full chain, but only 1/3 certificates was being sent to the user. Thankfully, that was an easy config adjustment. SSL Labs gives us a "B" now. This should clear it up for some users.

Clearly the connection issues were multi-faceted. We had blocked IPs, blocked VPNs, and missing certificates. It wasn't a bug, it was a committee.

UPDATE: So before I had a chance to try all of the suggestions, the SBO app began working on my phone again. It also now works with my T-Mobile Hotspot, and my TracFone (Verizon) mobile data.
All without any intervention by me.
Aren't electronics simply amazing?!!!
If any of you wizards behind the curtain had any hand in this electronics miracle, I offer my sincere thanks.
