Mick,FIrst, thanks eyr much for you response, I appreicate you taking the time to write something. I don't think your boat is representative of the vintage I need. Mine is a 1984, and although a couple of bits of rigging are Garhauer, not all of it is. And it certainly doesn't look like anything they sell now. I found your comment on Mk. I amusing. That's like saying 'there is no first wife, only wife, and second wife." Of course it wasn't originally designated as such, but it is commonly referred to, quite logicaly, as a Mk. I. Note this from the Catalina 36 International Association: "The Catalina 36 has been around since 1983, producing the original Catalina 36 (we now call it the Mk I), and about a decade later redesigned as the Mk II." A search on the site for "Mk. I" will yield many such references.
