I will soon be replacing my standing rigging. I intend to use swageless terminals. I have heard a lot about Norseman and Sta-Lok, but I recently heard of another one called Quick Attach. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with them.

I used Sta-Lok and was pleased

with them.

May I ask why?

Why have you decided to go with mechanical fittings? What kind of boat is it? What are your plans for the boat?

Sta-loks

I will soon replace the rigging on my Hunter 37c and have decided on Sta-Lok. They both have pros and cons but the Sta-Lok can be owner installed and is reuseable. Try this website, they post a lot of information on anything to do with rigging. www.riggingonly.com

Response to Moody Buccaneer

My boat is in dry storage in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. I brought one lower shroud back with me this spring and can have it (and its counterpart on the starboard side) made up with swaged fittings. The other shrouds, however, I had to leave in place (or pull the mast), and rather than risk having new shrouds that don't fit I decided to have top fittings swaged on , make the new shrouds about a foot too long, then fit them in place when I go back next fall. The boat is an '82 Hunter 37 Cutter. We have been cruising in Mexico (west coast) for the last 6 years and intend to continue. Or maybe Central America.
