While delivering our boat this summer, and crossing some rough water, we noticed the top of the rudder post was wobbling back and forth at least 1/8" from side to side over every wave. This was at first very alarming as we had a long ways to go. Being that we had no way to disassemble or repair this under way, we watched it and completed the delivery. However, this is something I want to fix ASAP....at least before next season anyway. The rudder was recently removed for trucking across the US and after having the whole thing re-built and re-installed, I was quite dissapointed that it is so sloppy in its bearings. This also makes the helm feel sloppy. (ugh!) So my question is this: Is there any way to fix or replace the top rudder bearings without removing the rudder?
