I just bought a 336 Hunter and nobody could tell me what or where the rope in the seetee table go's over a pully in the mast near the cabin roof,
sound like a weight balast moves in the lower part when pulling the rope I
can't believe it is for raising the TABLE...what is it for ?

It is for raising the table.

At least it is on my h40.5. Simple counterweight; the table is fairly heavy.

Yes it is attached to a counterweight. Simply lift the table or pull it downward. Sometimes due to moisture and salt intrusion the weight will stick to the inside of the tube.

Yes it is for the table ! I had a 336 and what all the other post say is correct. Attaches to a counterweigth to help raise/lower the table. Just try to lift the table with out and you will understand why it is needed. I know from when my counterweight got stuck.

Table drops down to make a double berth. On my 35.5, I think its the best berth on the boat. Should be a "T handle" somewhere that loosens the table from the mast support and lets it move up and down.
