Probably everyone knows this but me, but I recently received my Rolly Tasker sail from Sail Warehouse, and have a question. Along the entire length of the leech, there is a lightweight line, with about 2 feet of line hanging loose on each end. What is this line for? We have only been sailing for about 3 years, and have not learned everything yet. By the way, Sail Warehouse is a great place to deal with. Good prices, fast shipping, and had my sail in stock. Thanks, Sam

I believe

I belive it is to adjust the tension on the luff of the sail which can adjust the shape of the sail. I have not used it very often. Also I noticed you are from Palm Harbor. My daughter just moved there about a year ago and now I have a new grandson living there. I will be going down there April 16th to the 19th. If you want we can hook up somehow, I can give you some ideas on what I've done with my 1998 H240, most of which you are reading about now at this site. Let me know if you are interested. I am in the owners directory as well. Bill Krause

Leech line

The leech line is used to improve the downwind sail shape. Tightening the leech line deepens the belly of the sail allowing the sail to catch and retain the force of the wind.

Leech Line

You'll sometimes notice that you can't get the leech to stop flapping despite attempts to trim it out. Try adjusting the Leech line and you'll see the difference.
