Hi Don, I have a question regarding setting up a Barberhauler (cross haul) for the job. In your book on Sail Trim you mention attaching a line with a sliding knot using a boy scout sliding knot and attaching the otehr end to your lazy winch. When I was a Boy Scout we were too poor to have tents and had to stay in cabins and I don't have a lazy winch. Can you explain an alternative set of points to connect? ( I could probably get a sliding knot know-how from a knot book, but that lazy winch is the tough one.) I only have 3 single speed winches: 1 on the mast for the main and in each on eiher sode of the cockpit on top and outboard of the bench backs. I have recently replaced my older sails with new sails (main and 140% jib) and although the performance has dramatically improved, I'd like to improve it yet more in lighter air. We sail primarily in Buzzards Bay, so dealing with higher wind gusts in the chop is desireable. Ok, I think I found my own answer to both questions. Gawd I luv Google! But coul you please expound further on using the Barberhauler? Thanks, twice ! Bob
