I have a late 70s Catalina 30. I always thought it was a standard rig. I am buying a new mainsail and have gotten a luff measurement that indicates a tall rig. Does anyone have the mast only measurements for each class?
According to the literature, the mast extrusion is 40.0 feet for the standard and 42.0 ft for the tall rig. The main luff is 35.0 ft for the standard and 37.0 for the tall.
Dick, I got that info directly from my copy of the owner's manual. Fortunately the previous owner of my boat had a copy and passed it on to me. My boat is an '88, but I am sure the mast dimensions are the same for a 70's boat.
