What are those strings hanging off the leech of my mainsail? They seem to run along the edge inside the seam and exit through a plastic doohickie where they just hang looking sad and lonely.
If the wind picks up and the leech starts flapping, the leech lines can be adjusted to stop it. Other than that, I generally keep the leech lines loose.
