Hi Peggie,I cut through the aft bulkhead on our 1991 Hunter 28, removed the fuel tank and the corroded aluminum holding tank. Due to the hull bottom and the rudder post housing, the holding tank fit is very tight. My original tank is 20x18x8. I know that you have recommended Ronco holding tanks, but they do not have one the right size.I located one from Duraweld, which is 20x17x9, which I think will work. I read your "fact or folklore" article about holding tank construction. The one I am considering is 1/4 inch molded FDA virgin grade Linear Medimum Density Polyethylene, and has a 13 gallon capacity. My question is about its construction. Is the 1/4 inch wall thickness adequate for this capacity tank, or should I upgrade to the .375 inch thick wall? Their website is www.dura-weld.com if you want to check it out before answering. Any alternative advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, what type of replacement tie down straps do you recommend? Thanks Peggie.Gary Scheier"Serenisea"
