Several of my Catalina 36 friends have a perplexing question. When they got their boats they found a piece of plywood that is shaped like a Y. It looks somewhat like a slingshot that everbody made as a kid. Nobody knows what it is or used for.
The wooden "Y" is a wheel nut wrench. It will fit the stainless nut on the wheel allowing you to remove the wheel easily at anchor for more cockpit room or to simply tighten the nut if it works loose. It is made of wood to avoid marring the wheel nut. Rodney Kidd S/V Sashay, C42 #567
