Anybody know what kind of seal is in the engine hatch in the cockpit? My boat is in the yard in Gulfport awaiting some hurricane repairs. Leaves plugged the cockpit drains and I wound up with water below the engine that ran out onto the cabin sole. What is the fix?

Jim, the hatch has to be a owner mod

never knew any other 37c to have one. But post to the Cherubini forum and see if I am right.

H36 cockpit hatch,

Scott, I think Jim has the H36. Sticks in my mind that it did/does have engine access from the top. As far as how to seal it I would only be guessing. A pure round rubber gasket that compressed when the panel was secured would be my guess. Are you sure that is the source of the leak Jim?

Ed, I'm fairly sure. Water was backed up to that part of the cockpit deck. I was last down to check MS damages in Novenber, so by January it had accumulated. I do have some deck joint damage by lifeline stantions, so I know there are other ways for water to get in. The water overflowed the engine pan and aft onto the sole and then to the bilge.
