The ones made by Bomar that are currently in production... are they drop-in replacements for the original OEM Gray ports, or are the sizes different? Thanks!

I think it depends on the vintage.
Phil: I think it depends on the vintage. I believe that they all fit the same opening, but I though that there was a difference on how the screws attached on the early ones vs. the later ones. The later models have the screws on the inside.

Bomar portlights
Phil My '82 Hunter 27 took the plastic Bomar versions. I bought them a couple of years ago. They do indeed just drop in. I'm not sure about Steve's comment regarding the screws, because the originals on our boat had screws in the inside already (or were they not the originals?). Anyhow, the only issue that I had with the Bomar versions was that they stick out quite a bit more outside. I haven't done anything about it and so far no extra scrapes on the crew. But just FYI. Ron

Gray is still here in Tampa manufacturing the same portholes that were original equipment on your boat. Some years ago there was a change of ownership and they are now a Division of Bomar. Go to Bomar's web page and look under the product section for Gray and look up the size of your porthole. They take orders and ship right out of here. They also have replacement screens, the dogs and various parts. Good luck.

Go with Trimatrix
I just replaced 11 ports on my Hunter 33. I took out all the old original Gray ports. Go to www.newfoundmetals.com and price Trimatrix replacement ports. They are easy to install, cost is great and the ports are far more superior to any other replacement ports with the exception possibly for solid SS or Bronze ports. Good luck.

Spigot Dimension
Replaced 2 ports last summer on a h28.5. Dry fit, marked the spigot dimension to 'flush' including the outboard trim ring and added @ a 1/4 inch. Cut off the spigot to the marked line w/ a hand saw, eased the raw edges w/ a rasp & round file for the corners and completed the installation. Functional, unobtrusive and as close to OEM as I could make it. Customer Service @ Bomar was helpful and ports arrived w/in 3 days of placing order. Good luck!
