I was given a Yamaha 9 gallon gas tank that fits very well in the tank area of my H-26. Only problem is that I have a Nissan 8 hp, so the fuel line fittings are different. Unfortunately, the tank-side fitting is molded in and I can't figure out a way to swap out the 2-prong fitting. (The Nissan/Tohatsu has a single ring-like fitting.) Does anyone know if mixing the fittings would work? I can easily replace the motor-side fitting on the fuel line to match my engine, but would it even work, given that I have to leave the Yamaha fitting on the tank?Part of me says there must be a good reason for the difference, the other part of me says it shouldn't matter, since it's just sucking gas through a line (and having different fittings makes perfect sense if you're in sales!
