Quality of Water Along Baja

I'm going south to Cabo on the Baja HaHa this fall. The old conventional wisdom is to not trust ANY drinking water (or for that matter ice in drinks) in Mexico, unless its bottled or (if ice) packaged. But then I hear that most of the communities in Baja use the reverse osmosis process to get their fresh water, which would seem to me to be foolproof at eliminating the bugs that bring on "Montezuma's Revenge". So what's the scoop? Can you trust the fresh water provided by the locals in Baja or no?

Water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink.

Steve, Dunno 'bout the interior, but on my many, many trips down there (not counting TJ & Ensenada) Cedros, Tortuga Bay, Magdelena Bay, Cabo, La Paz, Guymas, San Carlos (there is another 'San Carlos' up river from Mag Bay-good too) I have had no problemo, but I ahve seen fragile ones, men and women both who pamper themselves, only drink bottled water at home and have no bacteria/immunities in their gut get sick. It doesn't see to last long, but Cabo is very good water at the clubs, fuel-dock.

Be safe!

Mix it with scotch or rum. Hum, never had it with tequila.
