PVC Dock Pilings?

I know this is a bit off topic for this forum, but wanted to ask... Does anyone have experience placing PVC pilings for a dock? If so, any hints or thoughts on the best type of concrete mix to use to fill the pipe once it is in place? And how does one take into account the water already in the pipe when mixing the concrete?

concrete

Best bet is to call your local concrete supplier, he's bound to give you the best dope on this subject.

Water is good

don't know what type you should use, but don't worry about the water in the pipe. The more water in concrete mix, the harder it sets, just takes a little longer is all.

Concrete is heavier than water and will displace the water when you pour it in the Pipe. Put some rebar in the pipe also to add strength. Jeff

Concrete PVC/EPA

Is that legal with the EPA? I thought concrete was toxic to fish and you would need all sorts of permits to do that. I saw a dock being re-built in Mobile. The were using the wood pilings but putting sewer pipe (cheap black corrugated) over the pilings.

How many fish...

live inside a PVC pipe? Once the pipe is driven into the mud along with supports, it is highly unlikely that concrete could escape the pipe unless, of course, someone was not careful when pouring it.
